Working for the Governmetnt Career Forum, March 19th: Noon to 1:30 PM

The SNESL Career Services Office is presenting the “Working for the Government” Career Forum next Thursday, March 19th from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Larkin Courtroom. The Career Forum will be an alumni panel discussion on working for the government, and will include a discussion on the similarities and differences of holding positions at the local, state and federal levels. Panelists include alumni working in the IRS Criminal Investigation Unit, the Massachusetts Department of Industrial Accidents, the Massachusetts Legislature, and the U.S. Department of the Navy. The discussion will be followed by a Q&A session. Pizza will be served.

In addition to the lunchtime alumi panel “Working for the Government” Career Forum from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Larkin Courtroom, the Newport County Chamber of Commerce is hosting a job fair including a panel on “How to Apply for Federal Jobs” from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. at the CCRI Newport County Campus located at One John Chafee Boulevard in Newport. The job fair, which runs from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., includes a variety of different employers including representatives from the U.S. Navy; for more information visit www.newportchamber.com or call 401-847-1608.
